The journey to becoming a Dive Professional, i.e. Dive Master and then Instructor is made up of various courses designed to help you grow into the best Pro Scuba Diver you can be. Each course is backed up by world class learning materials that can be accessed online. These materials are included in the cost of the programme.

Open Water
This is the beginning of the most exciting journey of your life. It’s the introduction to Scuba Diving and the qualification to dive anywhere in the world, subject to the limitations of the qualification. It is also the most vital course as it sets the foundation of your diving skills.
This course is special as it takes individuals outside of their comfort zone and places them in a completely foreign environment. It teaches them how to start coping with stress and problem solve at the same time. You will learn a lot about yourself and actually how much you are actually capable of, given the correct tools and mentoring.
At the same time it is exciting and a whole pile of fun. But, the most important part is the sense of achievement you get from completing the course when presented with your qualification. You have learnt to set a goal and finish the task!
Advanced Open Water
This is the next chapter of your new adventure, allowing you to dive deeper and broadening your opportunities to improve diving skills, have more fun and dive more advanced dive sites. The Advanced Open Water Course develops personal diving skills and in so doing boosts confidence in the water as well as on land.
It allows you to venture to the amazing wrecks that lie beyond the 18m limitation of an Open Water Certification making it that you can join any dive of your choosing within recreational dive limits – ANY WHERE in the world.
Coupled with these new skills you are more self-sufficient underwater, being more aware of your surrounding environment and fellow divers. No longer being reliant on those more qualified on your dive. The diving now also becomes more serious because of the depth, this starts teaching you to take responsibility for yourself and your dive buddy. You learn to start being more self-reliant.
EFR
This course must be done before you can move on to the Rescue Diver Course.
You learn essential skills such as CPR, general first aid, emergency procedures, accident scene management and how to use an AED. This is a recognised first aid course and you are qualified as an Emergency First Responder. After this course you start to gain confidence in yourself as you have now learnt skills that not everyone has. It also opens up another field of interest that you may have never before thought of or been exposed to.
Rescue Diver
Until this stage you have only had to worry about yourself and your own dive.
The Rescue Diver course is described by scuba divers as the most challenging, yet most rewarding course they’ve ever taken and the FUNNEST. Why? Because they learn to prevent and manage problems in the water, and become more confident in their skills as a diver, knowing that you can help others if needed. During the course, you learn to become a better buddy by practicing problem solving skills until it becomes second nature.
This course starts teaching you that it’s “not all about you”. You have to now worry less about yourself and more about others. Now you start to become the highest qualified diver on the boat other than the Dive Master. This in itself is a massive responsibility that you are learning to take on as you could potentially be in a position where you would need to prevent situations that could result in you saving a life and deal with a real-life crisis.
This course starts teaching you how to make good judgement calls and decisions under pressure in the spur of the moment. When an emergency arises, you can step forward not backward.
Dive Master Experience Phase
Now it gets REAL!!! This is probably the most fun part of the entire programme. This grooms you for your Dive Master Course. During this phase you shadow a PRO Dive Master and can log between 60 & 100 dives in this period.
The most important part of this phase is that here you learn responsibility. You have people’s lives in your hands and are responsible for the divers’ safety and fun. But this is also a business after all and these are our customers. This is a massive responsibility, you now must keep customer service in mind. You start learning what it takes to keep your customer happy and how to read people to have a successful business.
The idea is that during the +- 100 dives as a shadow Dive Master you will have experienced all sorts of weather and diving conditions, good and bad. Similarly, all types of divers good and bad. Now you learn to cope with real life situations, put your skill set and decision making capabilities to the test while still under the direct supervision of a PRO. Anyone can do a Dive Master Course, meet minimum standards and get the badge, this phase makes you a REAL Dive Master and gives you the confidence that you can dive and take care of other divers in any conditions under any circumstances. Equipping you for diving anywhere, making the world, quite literally your oyster.
You’ll encounter highly successful people from all over the world. The experience you get from interacting with these people is invaluable. You’ll start to see that possibilities are limitless if you want it bad enough.
Dive Master
The moment of truth. You grow up fast during the Dive Master Course. For most of you it is the first “Adult” thing that you’ll achieve in life. This is a recognised qualification that allows you to work anywhere in the world. It can be, and is for many a career, or at least enables you to support yourself while travelling the world for a while.
This course teaches you the “business of diving”. You learn how to sell yourself and to value good business principles to run a successful business.
A large part of this course is about “Role Model Behaviour”. This is essential in your development. When you become a good role model to the divers you are leading, this immediately carries over into the rest of your life. You realise that your actions affect others.
Ultimately you become leaders.
